Human Able To Think Four Things At Once

January 30th, 2008 by WTJ

How many things can you do at once? Researchers had concluded that human brain can focus on four things at once.

Researchers at the University of Oregon have concluded that the human brain has a built-in limit on the number of discrete thoughts it can entertain at one time. The limit for most individuals is four, according to the research team led by University of Oregon psychology professors Edward Awh and Edward Vogel.

Here’s a joke, when you’re making love with your fiancee, what are the three other things in your mind?

Don’t Spread Out Your Goals, Focus One At A Time.

Doing few things once a time will make you do a lousy job.  You can perform better if you just concentrate on doing one thing at a time.  Same thing goes to your goal.  You may have iPhone, telescope, iPod, a new laptop, etc. in your wishlist.  One of the solution to get all these things is through savings.

If you can save $1000 per month to buy the items you want, how would you manage this money?  Would you spread it out to allocate same fund for each items?  I wouldn’t suggest you doing that.  I would suggest you to allocate the money according to your priority.  For example laptop is what you want the most as better laptop can increase your productivity, and telescope is at the bottom of your list.  Why don’t you allocate 70% of the money on laptop and then spread out the other 30%.  This helps you buy something fast, but also you have more funds after archiving a goal.

The Same Thing Goes To Settling Debt.

It is better to tackle your debt one by one.  Don’t pay each debts little by little.  You will always in debt if you do that.  It is better if you can pay off small debts first before you start tackling the big ones.  When you are free of small debts, you have better concentration and more funds to pay off the big ones.

Focus On What You Want, But Not What You Don’t Want.

You can think four things at once, but what would you think.  Negative thinking is not encouraged.  Since you can think four things at once, stop occupying them with negative thoughts.  For example, stop thinking you don’t want to lose money, gain weight, go to work, and hungry.  Adjust your way of thinking, try to think how can you earn money, keep fit, get a better job opportunity, and what food you can eat!

Become Rich In Poor Society

January 29th, 2008 by WTJ

I just saw an interesting question asked in Yahoo! Answers.

now i am a poor boy and i just want to get more money, that’s not joke i’m serious with that so please inform me something best for me

What is rich?  I define the term “rich” as have a quality of life which is better than others.

From his question, I guess what he wants is just earning more money than people in his neighbourhood.  I had been asked an interesting question.

World A, you earn $100,000 and richer people earn $200,000.

World B, you earn $90,000 and poorer people earn $50,000.

World A is a developed world, and you are considered as poor in that society.  World B is not so developed, but you are in the top class of that society, but then you earn less than when you are in World A.  Which would you choose?  Most people will choose to stay in World B.

There are several answers given in Yahoo! Answers, and this are some of the quotes from them.

mister ed, “in your basic question i think you wanted to use “in a” instread of “at” == there is a saying in the land of the blind a one eye man is king — which means look around and learn from the ones who have made it — example if you are a helper on a dump truck — what does it take to be the driver — if you are the driver what does it take to be the owner!!!!”

pablo M, “you can either work hard or do what rich people do…take advantage of the poor people”

Laura, “Don’t fall for society’s trap of the “rich get richer and the poor get poorer” by wasting money & going into debt trying to prove yourself with the latest cellphone, car, sneakers, whatever. The truly rich have NOTHING to prove and the millionaires I’ve met…well, I couldn’t tell they were millionaires until on down the road ( I worked for a bank). They have nice clothes, houses and cars, but nothing too flashy. The people trying to prove they had money and didn’t…those were the ones with the newest and best.”

Earning Money Online Through Blogging Without Investing Any Money

January 28th, 2008 by WTJ

You may find that a lot of famous bloggers earned their money through blogging by hosting their own blogs and sites. This may give you the impression that you need money to make money. This is wrong. You can make money online without investing any money first.

You are not required to have unique domain to earn money.

To start a blogging business doesn’t require you to buy a domain name and host a server. There are various free blogging platform online. The recommended one is blogspot/blogger. Blogspot is recommended not only for its easy-to-use platform, and also you can change the theme to optimize your earning through advertisements (will discuss later).

Adsense for almost everyone.

The number one option for everyone to earn money online is Google Adsense. By using blogspot/blogger, you can integrate adsense into your theme easily via their template. However adsense is not an easy money to earn, it takes time (in fact it took years for me to start earning via adsense).
Now you have a blog, then what?

Having a blog doesn’t guarantee you start earning money. First, you need to have contents. Content is the king of blog. Though a lot of bloggers suggested you to have a niche blog, and that may give you a hard time to think a niche, and you might not like it. I’d tell you to blog things that you passionated. Passion is the thing that drives you to continue blogging. You must remember you doesn’t get rich through blogging in just one day. You create contents, then the contents attract people, and you continue to create more contents and attracting more readers.

Grow, Grow, Grow!

Although content is the king, you also need readers to sustain the king itself. So readerships a.k.a. traffic is the soul of making money online. The larger readership you have, the better chance you’ll make more money through blogging. You can expand your readership through many sources, such as Digg, StumbleUpon, intro to your friends (mouth spreading), left a comment in other blogs, facebook, and many other methods.

After earning money, invest part of it.

Yes, invest with the money you earned. Some people tend to spend what they earned which is a bad thing to do. There are a lot of sources for you to make money through blogging, but many of them requires you to have a unique domain name. I’d suggest you to use the money you get from adsense (which is $100 USD) to host a website and buy a web domain name. There are a lot of cheap and reliable web hosting which you can buy within $100 USD, and you will still have the change. It’s better to move to a unique domain name earlier. Time is money and money may not be the time. The more time you spend using the free template, the more reliable your readers and you to stay there. So move fast if you can.

Don’t delete your free blogging template.

This was the mistake I made before. After moving to the new host and have your own domain name, please don’t forget to move your old contents to the new blog as well (I recommend to use wordpress to perform this). After moving all the contents, please don’t delete the old blog. You can redirect the old blog to your new blogs. This not only bring your previous readers to the new blog, and it also prevent the chance taker to take over your old blog domain name (this was the stupid mistake I made).

How to Blog?

A lot of friends are asking me this question. Blogging is easy. All you need to do is have a blog, write and publish.

For Richer, For Poorer

January 26th, 2008 by WTJ

For richer, for poorer:

As Bulgaria’s stock exchange took a serious hit amid worldwide stock plunges and predictions, it emerged that last year’s strong growth in housing prices would not be repeated this year, a new survey found. And, the country’s relatively rich are getting relatively richer.

In Bulgaria’s first year of European Union membership, households earning more than 2000 leva a month tripled…from one per cent in 2006 to three per cent in 2007.

But for 56 per cent of society – the poor, the elderly, small town and village dwellers – the rate of rise in incomes was slower, according to the poll by Noema agency, released on January 22 and quoted by Bulgarian news agency BTA.

Most of the times, I think attitude is the thing that determine you to be rich or poor.

Get Rich Quick or Lose Money Quick?

January 26th, 2008 by WTJ

Get Rich Quick or Lose Money Quick?

Recently I got one of those invitations to attend a get-rich-quick seminar. Included were two free tickets valued at over $100 each. The seminar promised to provide life-altering financial strategies. It had been a while since I attended one of these seminars, so I decided to go.

The meeting was held in a lavish setting: an expensive hotel ballroom lit with fancy chandeliers. The room was equipped with a PowerPoint display on a huge screen. Attendees began to fill the room, directed by lots of assistants who gave out colorful brochures. Precisely on time, the speaker walked up to the podium and took command. I’ll call him Slick (not his real name, of course, but it fits).

Slick described himself as a self-made, very wealthy man who made a lot of money in a company buyout, real estate and then the stock market. He had retired very young, got tired of living the easy life and then decided to help others learn how to be successful investors. He was an excellent pitch man who sought audience participation, some of which I suspect came straight from shills planted in the audience.Get rich now

The prospect of getting rich effortlessly has great allure, but the promoters are the ones making the easy money.

Resist the temptation to be a sucker

1. Make a killing in real estate
2. Make a mint in the stock market
3. Make for the exit — fast

Higher or Lower Income?

January 26th, 2008 by WTJ

Why Living in a Rich Society Makes Us Feel Poor:

Put the question another way, however, and we seem a little less certain. Consider a choice between these two worlds:

World A: You earn $110,000 per year, others earn $200,000.

World B: You earn $100,000 per year, others earn $85,000.

Robert H. Frank is a professor at Cornell University and the author of “Luxury Fever.”

The income figures represent real purchasing power. Your income in World A would command a house 10 percent larger than the one you could afford in World B, 10 percent more restaurant dinners and so on. By choosing World B, you’d give up a small amount of absolute income in return for a large increase in relative income.

Which would you choose?

No spin needed on desperation for residency

January 26th, 2008 by WTJ

The Sydney Morning Herald

A Bangladeshi student I saw recently attempted suicide after failing to pay his tuition fees. On closer questioning it turned out his parents had sold off almost all their land and taken out a sizeable loan from a moneylender at an extortionate rate. They were banking their future upon him completing his degree in Australia and gaining permanent residency.

Universities and colleges are really big ground for earning money.

To be success doesn’t only take lucks and chances, you need to have strong will and depress-tolerance. There is no point pursuing something others are pursuing, but you are not capable of doing it. That will only bring you disastrous result.

“Bernanke Rides to the Rescue”— More Cowboy Deception

January 25th, 2008 by WTJ

Atlantic Free Press

If you thought the housing and credit hits were bad, wait until the oil hit arrives more fully. If you thought the brief stint at $100 a barrel for crude oil was bad, wait until it approaches $200 a barrel and gasoline rises above $5 a gallon.

Losing a war should be warning enough, though “heroes” seldom admit that they have lost until they are truly down and out. The US’s growth-oriented, exploitive financial system is broken. It is paying the price of years of over-spending and dependence upon outside resources, such as oil. The rich have been getting richer in the US and the poor have been getting poorer.
